Rooted and Grounded
Col 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Parable of the sower Matt 13
Walking in Christ means walking in faith.
Gal 2:2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Those who seek to walk the middle ground between God and the world will be knocked off the fence. And that's a good thing. God is showing you your walk for what it is. In this time of increased spiritual turmoil, our only safety is to hide ourselves in Jesus. To send our roots deeper into Him and let Him be in charge of our upward growth, our leaves and flowers. Ours is only to abide in Him as the branch abides in the vine.
1 Pet 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
Vision of grasping on tightly and wrestling with sin, like a wild badger or like a burning fire, then crying out to Jesus to help. What do you think Jesus will say you should do?
